How to redeem a Steam wallet code
Steam balance is topped up with a code, with no account details shared. Where the code goes, and the region rule.
A Steam wallet code is a single-use code that adds balance to your account. We give you the code and you redeem it — we never need to sign in.
Where the code goes
- Open Steam and click your account name, top right.
- Go to Account Details.
- Add funds to your Steam Wallet → Redeem a Steam Wallet Code.
- Copy and paste the code.
The balance appears immediately. You can do the same in a browser at store.steampowered.com/account.
Region — the mistake people make
A Steam wallet code has to match your account's store country. A code bought for Türkiye will not work on an account whose store country is Germany.
Your store country is on the Account Details page. Steam sets it from the country of your payment method and does not let you change it often.
A wallet code is not a game key
- Wallet code — adds balance, and you choose what to buy with it.
- CD key — puts a specific game in your library, and goes on a different screen (Games → Activate a Product on Steam).

Balance is not refundable
Money in a Steam wallet cannot be cashed out or moved to another account. Make sure you are on the right account before redeeming.
