Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 starts tomorrow, November 6. The details were published on the PlayStation Blog on October 28. We covered the game's launch in this article and promised an update once the Season 1 date was announced.

Multiplayer at launch

Maps:

  • Backstab: a war-torn map full of abandoned tanks.
  • Canyon: surrounded by towering rock walls.
  • Shoot House: the classic map reimagined in snowy North Korea.

Modes:

  • Grind: take down enemies, collect their dog tags and bank them for your team.
  • Drop Zone: returns with a rotating objective and Killstreak airdrops.

Mid-season

  • Ministry: a battle at an embassy.
  • Overflow: set in a factory and farmland.
  • Counter Attack: a new mode where teams try to detonate bombs at the enemy Comm Station.

DMZ: X01

DMZ gets a new location, X01: a weapons facility seized by enemy forces. It has tunnels, hazards, multiple DMZ Orders, Threat Briefings against Boss threats, and Resupply Runs.

Warzone

Warzone gets two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac. More intel and a full roadmap will follow later.

Weapons and the battle pass

  • Two new battle pass weapons: the Cronen Osprey assault rifle and the CSG-35 SMG, said to have the highest fire rate in its class.
  • The battle pass is a linear 100-tier track with more than 100 items, including Operator skins, weapon blueprints and finishing moves.
  • Premium buyers get a catch-up system: players who fall behind are caught up to the reward for the current day, up to day 50, which guarantees 50+ rewards.

The announcement does not give a start time; if one is published, we will update this article.
