How to buy Discord Nitro and redeem the code
Where the Nitro code goes, how Nitro differs from Nitro Basic, and what happens if you already subscribe.
A Discord Nitro code grants a fixed period of Nitro on your account. It needs no account details.
Where the code goes
- Open Discord and click User Settings (the gear, bottom left).
- Go to the Nitro tab.
- Paste the code into Redeem Code.
The browser works too: discord.com/settings/premium → the same field.
Nitro vs Nitro Basic
- Nitro — 500 MB uploads, 4K screen share, custom emoji everywhere, profile customisation, server boosts included.
- Nitro Basic — the smaller tier: larger uploads and emoji perks, no boosts and no 4K.
The product name says which one you are buying; they are not interchangeable.
If you already subscribe
The code extends your current subscription rather than running alongside it. If you pay by card and do not want it to renew, turn off auto-renew after redeeming.
If the code does not work
- It may already have been redeemed — never share a code.
- A missing or extra character: paste it, do not retype it.
- Regional limits: some promotional codes are country-bound.
