Forza Horizon 6 PS5 release date confirmed: January 26, 2027, pre-orders open

Forza Horizon 6 comes to PS5 on January 26, 2027, with Premium Edition owners starting on January 21. Pre-orders are open on the PlayStation Store and the first expansion lands the same day on every platform.
On the evening of October 8, Playground Games used the official Forza site to date the PlayStation 5 version: Forza Horizon 6 arrives on PS5 on Tuesday, January 26, 2027. As recently as early September the studio was still saying "later this year", so the port has slipped by a few weeks, but there is now a firm day. Pre-orders opened on the PlayStation Store the same day, and the Turkish store lists the Standard, Deluxe and Premium editions with a pre-order tag.
The dates at a glance
- January 21, 2027: five days of early access begin for Premium Edition owners. The first expansion (Expansion 1) lands the same day on every platform, including Xbox and PC.
- January 26, 2027: PS5 launch for the Standard and Deluxe editions. A physical disc version ships alongside the digital one.
- Date to be announced: the second expansion, which is included in the Premium Edition.
What each edition includes
- Standard: the game only.
- Deluxe: the game, the Welcome Pack and the Car Pass.
- Premium: the game, VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, the Time Attack and Italian Passion car packs, Expansion 1 and Expansion 2.
- Premium Upgrade: for people who already own Standard or Deluxe; it does not include the game but adds everything else from Premium.
Whichever edition you pick, pre-ordering adds a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 to your garage once you finish the prologue. Check prices and the line-up for your region in the PS Store; we do not quote prices in our posts.
What the PS5 version offers
- Cross-play and cross-save: PS5 players race in the same festival as Xbox and Steam players, and your save travels between platforms.
- Player-made content from day one: EventLab races, Prefabs, garages, estates, liveries and tuning setups are cross-platform and available on PS5 at launch.
- Two display modes: a 4K 30 FPS Quality mode and a 60 FPS Performance mode.
- Developer: Panic Button handled the PS5 port together with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios, as it did for Forza Horizon 5 on PS5.
A free content update for all platforms arrives with the PS5 launch; Playground says details will follow closer to release.
Why it matters
Forza Horizon 6 launched on May 19, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC and moved the festival to Japan. The PS5 version is the latest step in Xbox bringing its big series to PlayStation; Playground's next game, Fable, is reported to launch on Xbox, PC and PS5 together on February 23, 2027. For the rest of October's releases see our posts on the PS Plus October games and Gears of War: E-Day.
What players are saying
The discussion under the Turkish site DonanımHaber's report is short but clear: one reader thinks the decision makes sense since the PlayStation release was announced long ago, but argues that Xbox needs to separate its own exclusives from third-party games if it wants to sell consoles. Another simply wants Forza Horizon 4 back on consoles. In the Steam discussions the PS5 version does not come up at all; the current topics there are drift scoring, the 7-Eleven emblem fix and the promised customisation options.
Balance for your pre-order
To pre-order on the PS Store you can use a PlayStation gift card that matches your account's region. If you would rather play on Xbox or PC, Xbox gift cards and Steam wallet codes are also on the site. See the gift cards page for every platform.
