Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass today as Season 5 begins; Valor Mortis arrives day one

· 4 min read

A year after launch, Battlefield 6 enters the Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass library today, on the same day Season 5 starts. Valor Mortis and Deep Dish Dungeon arrive day one. We also list the nine games leaving on October 15.

The biggest name in the first October wave Xbox announced on October 7 arrives today: Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Tuesday, October 13, playable on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Two new games, Valor Mortis and Deep Dish Dungeon, enter Game Pass on their launch day as well.

The Xbox Wire announcement does not give an hour for when the games appear in the library.

Battlefield 6: why now, and on which tiers?

Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, so it reaches Game Pass a year and three days later. That is why Xbox presents it through EA Play instead of the usual day-one label: Game Pass Ultimate includes an EA Play membership.

  • Tiers: Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The announcement does not list the Premium or Essential tiers for this game.
  • EA Play perks: the EA Play Deployment Pack, the Season 5 EA Play Pack and recurring seasonal rewards. Ultimate members also get 10 percent off eligible EA digital purchases.
  • Platforms: cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Season 5 starts the same day

According to EA's roadmap, Season 5: Siege of Vegas also opens today. The update notes give these times:

  • 08:00 UTC: update 2.1.1.0 becomes available to download.
  • 12:00 UTC: Season 5 content unlocks.

What the season brings:

  • Two new maps: Vegas Strip and Area 51. A third map, a European casino, follows later in the season.
  • Rapid Royale: a faster battle royale mode for REDSEC with a lower player count, in solos and trios.
  • Ranked battle royale and leaderboards for multiplayer.
  • Four new weapons: the Mk 24 assault rifle, RSPR submachine gun, Z84M light machine gun and ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle.
  • Battlefield 6 x Dead Space limited-time event: October 20 to November 7.
  • Casino Heist update: November 10. Frozen Aces update: December 8.

EA is also running a free trial with every map and mode on PlayStation and Steam from October 15 to 19. On the Game Pass side the game is simply in the library from today.

Also arriving today

  • Valor Mortis (cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, PC): a first-person action game from the creators of Ghostrunner. You play a soldier of Napoleon's army who rises from the grave; combat is built on supernatural powers, parries and finishers. Day one on Game Pass.
  • Deep Dish Dungeon (cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC): an exploration and survival game set in a hand-crafted, puzzle-heavy dungeon, playable solo or in online co-op, with camp building, tool crafting and cooking. Day one on Game Pass.

Later this week

  • October 15: Bluey's Happy Snaps (cloud, console, handheld, PC) and Chained Beasts (cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC).
  • October 16: Beyond These Stars (PC).

All three are on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from launch day.

Leaving on October 15

These nine games leave the library on October 15, so you have two days to finish them:

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
  • Crime Scene Cleaner
  • Donut County
  • Evil West
  • Nova Roma (Game Preview, PC)
  • Pacific Drive
  • Superball
  • The Casting of Frank Stone

What people are saying

Commentary in the press centres on the timing: Battlefield 6 reaches Game Pass three days before the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access on October 16 and ten days before its launch on October 23. Writers note that one of last year's best-selling games has slipped out of the conversation in recent months, and ask whether Game Pass and Season 5 will bring players back. A common misunderstanding also gets corrected often: the game was previously only in EA Play Pro, which EA sells separately, so this is its first time on Game Pass.
