Valorant patch 13.08: 2026 Act 6 begins, Bind and Corrode return to competitive, Map Rating arrives

· 3 min read

Valorant's 2026 Act 6 started with patch 13.08. Bind and Corrode are back in the map pool while Ascent and Split rotate out, and a new Map Rating gives every map its own score.

Riot Games started 2026 Act 6 in Valorant with the patch 13.08 notes published on Tuesday, October 13 at 13:00 UTC. There are no agent or weapon balance changes; the headlines are the map pool, adjustments to Corrode and a new Map Rating system for competitive play.

The map pool has changed

In the Competitive and Deathmatch queues:

  • In: Bind and Corrode.
  • Out: Ascent and Split.

What changed on Corrode

The map returns with changes that make life easier for defenders:

  • Defender paths into the back of A Site and B Site were reworked to speed up rotations and retakes.
  • The Mid half wall is now metal and sits one meter further out; the boxes at the back of Lower Mid moved toward B and gained a jump-up.
  • The Lower Mid wall was raised so players cannot peek over it from the moved boxes.
  • The A Site plant zone was adjusted so post-plant play from A Link is less effective.

New: Map Rating

In Competitive and Premier, every map now shows a rating from 0 to 500 and a letter grade from C to S. It is based on your overall win rate on the map, your attacker and defender win rates and your Performance Score, with recent matches weighted more. Only you can see your rating, and everyone starts fresh: older matches do not count.

Career also gets a navigation bar for quicker access to Rank Legacy, Accolades and Map Rating, and there is a new Queue and Mode Select screen for matchmade and custom games.

Other changes

  • Killjoy: Alarmbot now shows visual and audio feedback when a moving doorway destroys a projectile.
  • Warden: fixed the scope reticle drifting during full-auto fire.
  • Audio: fixed footstep and bodyfall sound issues inside Fog of War.

Known issues

  • Team MVP does not display correctly in Match History; a fix is in progress.
  • The Practice Range is temporarily disabled because it put some players into a bugged queue state; a fix is being tested.

Penalties

Riot also shared how many accounts received bans of three days or longer during Act 5 (August 18 – October 1): more than 171,000 for cheating, more than 54,000 for botting and more than 76,000 for rank manipulation lead the list.

Battle pass and new bundles

The 13.08 notes say nothing about a new battle pass or store bundle, and the official notes do not give an end date for the Act. You can check the battle pass contents and duration in the in-game Battle Pass tab. We will update this article when Riot announces a bundle officially.

What players are saying

While preparing this article we did not find a large discussion dedicated to 13.08 on Reddit or vlr.gg. In earlier forum threads about Corrode, the most common complaint was long rotations, and the defender path changes in this patch target exactly that.

For Valorant Points

The battle pass and store content that come with a new Act are bought with Valorant Points (VP). Codes for your account's region are on our Valorant page. Our guide How to buy Valorant VP and redeem the code walks you through redeeming step by step. For account and rank listings, see the player market.
