How to redeem an App Store & iTunes code
An Apple code adds balance to the Apple Account it is redeemed on. That balance pays for apps, subscriptions and iCloud storage before any card is charged.
- 1On iPhone or iPad: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then "Redeem Gift Card or Code".
- 2On a Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom left, then "Redeem Gift Card".
- 3Type the code, or choose "Use Camera" and hold the card in front of the camera.
- 4The balance shows on your account page and is spent before your card at the next purchase.

What the errors mean
- This code is not valid in this country or region
- The Apple Account's country is not the code's country.
- This code has already been used
- Redeemed before. Tell us within 14 days for a replacement or a refund.
- Cannot connect to iTunes Store
- Not about the code — Apple's own service or the connection. Try again in a few minutes before assuming anything is wrong with the card.
