How to redeem a Google Play code
A Google Play code adds balance to the Google account it is redeemed on. The balance can then be spent on apps, games and in-app purchases in that country's store.
- 1Open the Play Store app and tap your profile picture at the top right.
- 2Tap "Payments & subscriptions", then "Redeem code".
- 3Type the code, or use the camera to scan it from a card.
- 4The balance appears under "Payments & subscriptions · Payment methods" and is used automatically at the next purchase.

What the errors mean
- This code can't be redeemed in your country
- The account's Play country differs from the code's.
- This code has already been redeemed
- Used before. Tell us within 14 days for a replacement or a refund.
- Invalid or expired code
- Usually a typing slip — scan the card instead of typing, or paste the code from your order page.
